Make it to Germany

Studium und Ausbildung

There are many ways to come to Germany. The easiest way is if you have a degree or an apprenticeship recognised in Germany. Then, you will be recognised as a skilled worker in Germany and granted a residence permit to work in Germany (§§18a, 18b AufenthG).

Academic and vocational training

Work experience

There is one exception to the requirement that you must have a degree or training: if you have extensive practical work experience, that is, if you have gained a lot of experience in a profession. If you can prove this, there are opportunities to work in Germany (§ 19c II AufenthG).

Further training

And there are other ways. Even if your training is not fully recognised (by Germany), you can come to Germany for further training (§ 16dI, II AufenthG). Your employer can also stipulate in a contract that you would like to do additional training. This allows you to work in Germany (Sec. 16d IV AufenthG).

Fast procedure

It can be quick. With a particular (accelerated skilled worker procedure (§ 81a AufenthG)), the waiting time can be reduced to 2 months. The most significant advantage, however, is that the embassy must arrange a visa appointment within three weeks. The procedure follows: The employer concludes a contract with the foreign authority. The agreement specifies how long the individual steps will take. This forces the administration to work faster. The acceleration costs 411 euros.
